We were on the way home from the monitoring we completed at Double point and as luck (or not) would have it, right at the haul out in Bolinas Lagoon, we saw this unfold. I'm not sure if there is speculation or proof of coyotes grabbing pups, but this sure seems legit to me. Granted, Mom was around and she made enough commotion to freak this guy out, but I can't help but think what would happen to a pup if Mom is out feeding. After the event, the coyote actually swam across the lagoon and came out near Hwy 1.
